Matter is a collection of work from some of Sheffield’s finest new writing talent – a must-read for literature fans looking for the best sellers of the future.
Matter 12 is an anthology of the best new writing from students on Sheffield Hallam University’s masters in creative writing. It is a chance to read material from writers who may go on to be the stars of the future.
Successful author Marina Lewycka, who studied on the course, published an extract in a previous edition of the anthology from her Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian before the book became a best-seller.
Launched in 2001, the Matter anthologies feature a host of new writing from short stories and poetry to extracts from novels, children’s fiction and scripts. Alongside the best writing from creative writing students, the anthology features guest contributions from some of the best writers of their generation.
